[edit] Inspiration and Live Performance(s)
Tommy SexXx, the lyrics auther, was inpsired to write "Flaxinator" about a teacher who taught him many things, especially Forensics and English. The song music was written impromptu by Flag Michaels and is comprised of three chords played in a cyclical, yet tantilizing pattern.
Shotgun unveiled "Flaxinator" at the Ottawa High School Forensics/GED Graduation ceremony on May 19th. They were met with a standing ovation.
On May 21st, the band preformed the song for a second time at the Forensics Farwell! Party. This version was less raw, and more polished, heavily featuring a synthesized overdrive guitar, falsetto background vocals, and a talk-box solo. Unlike the first preformance, SexXx no longer provided the vocals; they were preformed by up-and-coming Ottawa female vocalist Allison Williams. The band was once again met with a standing ovation.
